As a disc jockey, I spend my time assembling my favorite music finds like pieces of a puzzle to craft a cohesive, diverse set for the audience of WXYC 89.3 FM. My best sets are ones where I find a common thread to weave together tracks that, at first glance, seem unrelated. I see it as an exercise in creative problem solving — how can I get from Santa Cruz bluegrass to French Caribbean cabaret to British synth-punk within my allotted two hours?

College radio taught me not to shy away from a challenge. As GM of WXYC 89.3 FM, UNC Chapel Hill’s student-run radio station, I managed simultaneous projects resulting in a 23.2% YOY increase in New DJ applicants, a 30.35% reduction in DJ absences, and $6.6K+ in profits. I loved incorporating ideas and frameworks from my coursework to motivate my team and the DJ body.

Now, I’m looking for a full-time job where I can combine my strategy skills, business acumen, and creativity to solve problems and tell stories that resonate. My background in social media marketing, project management, graphic design, and audio/video production has prepared me well for a career of impactful work. I’m always open to chatting about whatever ad/PR crisis is in the news currently (I probably have a thought or two) or what music you’ve been jamming to lately. Feel free to reach out to me at mollehoran@gmail.com.
